St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church was organized about 1854 and for many years masses were held in the gothic style church constructed in 1880. This was razed within the last decade to be replaced by a modern structure which has recently opened for services.
In 1892 the Second Baptist Church was organized and the building dedicated in 1895.
The Hebrew Congregation was organized around the turn of the century, meeting for many years in its building on Broad Street.
The First Church of Christ Scientist met for many years, following its organization around 1920, in the Public Library. Its present meeting place is the building erected by the First Presbyterian Church of Keyport in 1879.
