Jack Conway Park

Now

Dedicated in 1992 as Jack Conway Kearney Street Senior Park, this small neighborhood green space honors lifelong Keyport resident Jack Conway, a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and beloved owner of Stanley’s Diner. Designed as a quiet gathering place for older residents, the park features several round picnic tables and benches where visitors can sit, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Conway was widely respected as a leader in Keyport’s business community and an ardent supporter of the borough’s Neighborhood Preservation Program, which helped fund the park’s creation. The park was refurbished in 2023, continuing the community’s investment in this welcoming public space.

Then

Before becoming a public park, this site was home to a private residence. When the property later became available, the borough transformed the lot into a neighborhood park and dedicated it in honor of Jack Conway and his many contributions to the life of the community. Conway’s Stanley’s Diner was a well-known local gathering place and a predecessor to today’s Broad Street Diner, which continues Keyport’s long tradition of diners serving as community meeting spots. Standing here today, this small park reflects the enduring impact of one individual whose life and work helped shape the spirit of the community around him.
